Ottawa Community Food Partnership at Right to Food Day: Strengthening Collaboration for Food Security

This past week, the Ottawa Community Food Partnership (OCFP) was proud to be represented at the annual Right to Food Day event, hosted by Parkdale Food Centre, which is an inspiring gathering of advocates, community organizations, and residents committed to advancing food as a fundamental human right in Ottawa.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to showcase how OCFP is helping strengthen Ottawa’s local food system through collaboration among community organizations, food banks, housing providers, and local food justice organizations. Demonstrating alignment across partners is essential to achieving our shared goals in ensuring that everyone in Ottawa has access to nutritious, culturally relevant, and sustainably produced food.

Throughout the day, we spoke with many individuals who were eager to get more involved in this work.

We encouraged them to sign up as Food Connectors with the Ottawa Food Policy Council, joining a growing network of residents and organizations taking action to build a more just and resilient food system.
